  The JBT course has been approved by the Government of Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra and other states.
The external examination for JBT I and JBTII years are conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education.
The JBT (Trained Teachers Certificate) course has the NCTE recognition and the equivalence to the J.B.T. of H.P.

  Admission and Eligibility
The candidates who apply for the course of JBT must have passed plus tWo with at least 50% marks. Compartment cases will not be considered. They are required to appear for a written test and an interview in June (date will be specified).
Those selected for the written test, will be intimated in time. Please bring your caUletter along. The others need not come.
Candidates must be between 17 to 25 years of age on 1st July of that year. Their school education should have been preferably through the medium of English and they should have taken the following subjects:
English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography and Hindi.
  Entrance Test
The test consists of questions on English, Mathematics and Hindi which is of two hours duration. On the same day, for iDterview the candidates selected, must come with their original Mark Lists and certificates of Std. X and XII. Selected candidates will be informed of the result of the written test and interview before the new session.
  Academic Year
The academic year begins in June and ends in April.

Content and practical subjects are assessed internally and the methods externally. There is a continuous assessment of practical throughout the year.
At the end of the 2nd year an external examiner assesses the student's competency in teaching, Art and Craft and Speech and Drama. Marks are allotted in the following manner.

Teaching : 100 marks
Art and Craft : 50 marks
Speech and Drama
: 50 marks



A certificate of fitness from a registered medical practitioner. The college reserves the right to have any candidate examined by a medical practitioner approved by the college and refuse admission to the candidate if not found fit as a result of such an examination.

Character Certificate from the school! College last attended.

Candidate’s shall. be admitted on probation for a period of 30 days and any candidate not found suitable for the teaching profession will be asked to leave.

Period of Training: The period of training is of two years duration.
Examination: The examination for each year is divided into two parts as follow:

(a) At the end of part A of year-1 course, candidates will be examined internally and externally and will not ordinarily be promoted to the Year-2 unless they satisfy the requirements of . the examination.
However! candidates obtaining an average of 40% on the aggregate but failing in not more than 2 subjects will be allowed to keep terms in Year¬2, but will have to re-appear and obtain a pass in the subjects they have failed in, before they are awarded the Year2 certificate.

(b) Part (b) of the course will be evaluated internally.

Year -2
(a) At the end of Part A of the Year-2 course, candidates will be examined internally and externally.

(b) At the end of Part B of the course, candidates will be evaluated internally.

Teaching Practice
It is desirable that all students should have a minimum of eight weeks teaching practice during their training, out of which there should be a total of three weeks teaching of not less than one week at a time.

Standard dress during teaching practice will be: Saree worn modestly.
Every Thursday in the week, being a day given for teaching practice, students must wear saree (cream with red border), cream blouse and red cardigan.
At least 50 lessons should be given before the College authorities or their delegates
