ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The department of physical education is among the premier departments in the faculty of education and information science. The main objectives of the department are to: develop motor abilities like strength, speed, endurance, coordination, flexibility, agility and balance, as they are important aspects for good performance in different spheres of life.
The department infrastructures developed is as per the norms. A faculty of competent and dedicated teacher is engaged in relentless pursuit of excellence in Physical Education and Sports for health, fitness and wellness of the citizens.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the department are as under:
- To prepare highly qualified teachers and leaders in the field of Physical Education and
Sports. - To provide professional and academic leadership to other institutions in the field of
Physical Education. - To provide vocational guidance and placement services to the professionals in this field.
- To promote mass-participation in Physical Education and Sports.
- To develop and promote programmes of Physical Education and Sports in the country.
- To encourage and produce scientific contemporary literature in the field of Physical
Education and Sports. - To provide community services in the field of Physical Education and Sports.
MISSION
The primary mission of the department of physical education is to educate students regarding the benefits of living a healthy and physically active lifestyle; provide opportunities for sports, fitness and leisure; offer professional preparation in the areas of coaching, health and outdoor education.
VISION
The vision of the department of physical education is to broaden the horizon of the students in the field of physical education. The department also aims to train and produce future generation which can effectively contribute and enhance the status of sports and Physical Education in our country.

SPORTS FACILITIES:
Sports play a pivotal role in shaping one’s personality and maintaining good health. We’ve specially developed a sports environment that matches international standards and gives a truly global experience to all our students. All of which is provided to them on the campus.
There are multiple sport facilities to keep our students engaged and physically fit:
OUTDOOR SPORTS FACILITIES
The College campus is equipped with outdoor sports facilities for recreation and leisure-time activities for the Students and faculty members. Presently, Basketball Court, Badminton Court, Cricket Pitch for Net Practice and Volley Ball Court are available.
INDOOR SPORTS FACILITIES
The campus is also equipped with indoor sports facilities for students and faculty members. For outdoor sports: Badminton Courts, Chess, Carom Board, Boxing Practice, Volleyball Practice & Table Tennis facilities are available.

In order to ensure a sound body and sound mind, students are given special attention on health and physical fitness. A modern gymnasium has been set up with the following latest fitness equipments:-
