DISASTER MANAGEMENT CELL

Disaster management  cell  of  the  college works  in creating awareness  among students and  the college community in  general about  the  havoc  caused by  manmade  and natural  disaster. It Provides basic training to the students to ensure safety during a threatening disaster situation. The cell conduct various mock drills to prepare students as well as faculty to  meet emergency situations.

OBJECTIVES

  • To collate all the information needed for effective management of disasters in the college
  • To establish an emergency response system in college
  • To prepare the college community for any emergency response
  • To define roles and responsibilities for effective response
  • To create awareness and build the capacity of the college community
  • To implement mitigation activities in college
  • To promote partnership among various stakeholders

Disaster Management Cell of the college has prepared The College Disaster Management Plan (CDMP) to ensure better preparedness and response to disasters

The College Disaster Management Plan (CDMP)

The College Disaster Management Plan (CDMP) is the guide for achieving the objective related to disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. This Plan will help in disaster response in a planned way to minimize human, property and environmental losses. Preparedness means performing those activities that are aimed at reducing the risk of various hazards, improving response activities and coping capabilities. Disaster preparedness is building up of capacities before a disaster situation prevails, in order to reduce impacts.

CONSTITUTION OF THE COLLEGE DISASTER MANAGEMENT CELL (CDMC)

It is vital that CDMC must be functional throughout the year. CDMC must conduct various activities to ensure that the students, teachers and other staff are well aware and trained in responding to any emergency situation. The CDMC will also bring various stakeholders under one roof so that the continuous effort of every stakeholder will create a resilient college and safer environment for education.
