ECO-FRIENDLY CAMPUS
GREEN CAMPUS
One of the most lasting impressions etched in the mind of every student is the greenery all around the campus, tall deodar trees, beautiful buildings, bushes and the beautiful flowers. The students are able to spend time in nature and this is important for their social, emotional, spiritual and physical well being.
MEDICINAL GARDEN AND BLACK GOLD UNIT
An initiative by the Department of Botany of the college has resulted in starting a small Medicinal Garden. Every plant is properly identified and labeled giving their family, Botanical and common names and medicinal uses. The Botanical nomenclature of more than 40 plant varieties has been assigned in the Botanical garden. Black Gold unit is there for the sustainable management of biodegradable waste.
WASTE PAPER RECYCLING UNIT
The college recycles its waste cardboards, old books, newspapers and other waste paper. The recycled paper is used by the students and staff to make cards, bookmarks, and paper for craft activities.
SOLAR HEATING SYSTEM
Special efforts have been made by the college to be more eco-friendly. As part of energy saving initiatives, Solar Lights illuminate most of the classrooms. There is a Solar Heating System in the hostel.
RAIN WATER HARVESTING UNITS
Rain Water Harvesting Units are useful for the storage and conservation of water. The stored water is used to irrigate plants and trees in the campus.
