August 7, 2024	"Navigating New Beginnings: Economics Department Orientation 2024"	On August 7, 2024, the students of the second and third year of the Economics Department organized an Orientation cum Interactive Session for the incoming batch of first-year students for the academic session 2024-25. The event was designed to introduce the new students to the college environment and was graced by the virtual presence of Ms. Ankita Chatterjee, a distinguished alumna. The primary objectives of the orientation session were to familiarize the new students with the college campus, introduce them to the faculty, highlight the various extracurricular activities available, and showcase the facilities provided by the institution.
July 22, 2024	Orientation Report	On 22nd July 2024, Dr. Anupama Tandon, Head of the Department of Economics, and Ms. Komal Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science organized a successful orientation program at St. Bede College to welcome newly inducted students and their parents. Principal Prof. Molly Abraham reaffirmed the commitment of the college to high-quality education, and Dr. Tandon warm welcome address emphasized the pivotal role the college will play in the students futures. Esteemed alumna Mrs. Geeta Kapoor Ex-Chairman Managing Director of SJVN Limited inspired attendees with her insights, and Dr. Tandon PowerPoint presentation showcased the college state-of-the-art facilities. March 6, 2024	Event name: IT trip	Description: Department of computer science organised one day IT visit to CS Soft Solutions (I) Pvt. Ltd., Mohali (SAS Nagar), Punjab on March 6, 2024. 33 students of BCA and BA along with two faculty members Ms. Neha Walia and Ms. Nivedita Bhardwaj visited the company. Students had interactive sessions on late full stack, android, mobile ASP.net and PHP applications. They also visited various departments of the company to get exposure of the IT company trends.
March 4, 2024	Event Name: Workshop on Graphic Design	Description: Department of computer science in association with Women Cell on the occasion of International Women’s Day organised one day workshop of on the topic “Graphic Design” on March 4, 2024 in the computer lab. Ms. Priyanka Vashisht, Team Lead UI/UX Design, Grazitti Interactive, Panchkula was the resource person. Guest speaker talked about the importance of Graphic Design in the field of information technology. She also gave hands on training on photoshop and illustrator softwares used for animations to the students. 30 students from BCA and BA Computer Applications participated in this workshop.

December 12, 2023	Event: Secret Santa	Objective: To develop a sense of selflessness among students. Department of English St. Bede’s College Shimla, organized ‘Secret Santa’ to celebrate Christmas on December 12, 2023. The activity was organized to develop a sense of selflessness among students. The students enjoyed while playing some interactive games, where they got to know more about each other. They exchanged gifts at the end of the day, had some snacks and tapped their feet to some music. Outcome: The students celebrated and learned more about the spirit of Christmas.

Colors of India: On-Spot Photography Competition Report"	Description: On the occasion of Bhartiya Bhasha Diwas, a vibrant on-spot photography competition was organized by the Photography Society, focusing on capturing the diverse colors of India through the lens of participants. The theme revolved around outfits worn by individuals representing various traditions, showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of the nation.
December 11, 2023.	Poster Making Competition on Theme “Meri Bhasha Meri Pehchaan”	Description: The fine arts society celebrated the event by organizing a Poster Making competition on Theme “Meri Bhasha Meri Pehchaan”. The college students participated very enthusiastically. The judges for the event were Mr. Mohit Kumar and Miss. Pratiksha Tomar. The fine arts society also decorated the auditorium with flower pots and decorative fabric.
December 11,2023	Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav	Description: On December 11,2023 Miraasa -the heritage club in collaboration with Yuva Tourism Club celebrated Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav to spark and encourage an enthusiasm for learning Indian Languages. A screening of a documentary based on Linguistics Diversity and Cultural Heritage was organised for the students and the staff members in the seminar room. Manoeuvring that India has a rich linguistic heritage and visualising Indian Languages as a great tool for national unity, students and staff members were encouraged to learn about the importance of Indian languages. The celebrations during the ‘Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav’ defined the social fabric of our country, ‘Diversity in Unity’.

November 19-25,2023	World Heritage Week	Description: Miraasa-the Heritage club organized a remarkable World Heritage Week, celebrating the rich cultural and historical treasures that contribute to our global heritage. The week-long event showcased diverse activities aimed at raising awareness and fostering appreciation for the world's heritage sites. The club organized online Quiz, photography competition, time capsule, screening of documentary ,story writing , poster making and nukkad natak based on preservation of our heritage sites.

October 31, 2023	"Mehndi Magic: Celebrating Cultural Artistry at St. Bede's College"	In celebration of the Karva Chauth festival, the Economics Department organized a vibrant Mehndi competition on October 31st. This culturally enriching event brought together students and teachers to showcase their creativity and artistic talents through the beautiful art of mehndi application. The competition, held in the college's spacious auditorium, created an atmosphere filled with excitement and cultural fervor.
October 31, 2023	Event: ‘Dhai Akhar’- National Level Letter Writing Competition	Objective: To celebrate the art of letter writing and express thoughts, feelings, and ideas in a meaningful manner. The students of St. Bede’s College participated in the National letter writing competition, organized by Department of Posts. About 150 students, both UG and PG participated in this competition. The theme given to the students was ‘Digital India’. The department of Posts had provided the students with inland letter cards as well as envelops. The letters were addressed to the Chief Postmaster General, if shortlisted the students would be given cash prizes and become eligible for the next round.

October 27-29, 2023	Annual Conference of the Numismatics Society of India	Description: The students of History Department attended 105 th Annual Conference of the Numismatics Society of India hosted by Banaras Hindu University in collaboration with Himachal State Museum at Gaiety Theatre from October 27-29,2023.Several research papers were presented by the scholars in the field of numismatics .A special student and scholar question-answer session was arranged ,which provide students an opportunity to engage with experts .Overall it was great learning experience for the students which not only broadened their horizons in the field of numismatics but also allowed them to in the leading scholars in the domain.

The day featured a PowerPoint Presentation, offering valuable insights into the complex concepts of poverty, and a captivating Nukkad Natak (street play) at 1:30 pm in the college courtyard. These activities aimed to raise awareness and provoke thought on the pressing issue of poverty.
October 16,2023	"Gifts of Compassion: St. Bede's College Economics Department Donation Drive"	On October 16th, 2023, the Economics Department embarked on a heart-warming journey through a donation drive, encouraging students to contribute essential items between October 11-13th for the benefit of the less fortunate. This extension activity aimed not only to provide support to those in need but also to instill in students the virtue of giving, fostering a sense of community and empathy for the underprivileged.

October 15, 2023	"Empowering Minds: Public Sensitization on Poverty Alleviation Initiatives"	In a proactive initiative, students of the Department undertook the responsibility of sensitizing the general public about the diverse poverty alleviation schemes launched by the Government of India. With the overarching objective of creating awareness about the distressing state of our nation in terms of the percentage of the population living below the poverty line, this activity aimed to bridge the information gap and cultivate a collective understanding of poverty- related challenges.
October 14, 2023	"Brushing Colors on Poverty: A Creative Odyssey for Awareness"	In line with the mission to foster awareness about poverty, the Economics Department organized a Poster/Sketching/Cartoon Making Competition on October 14th, 2023. This dynamic activity aimed to challenge students to blend creativity and skills, transforming their artwork into a compelling and imperative message on poverty. The active participation of students was instrumental in the success of this impactful event.
October 12,2023	Folk Singing Competition	Description: On October 12,2023, Miraasa -the Heritage Club in collaboration with the Music department of St. Bede’s College, Shimla organised solo folk song competition based on the theme “Dharohar : Reviving Himachali Folklore through Folk Songs”. Seven students were shortlisted for the competition. Students sang in chaste Mahasui, Kulvi, Mandiali, Chambiali ,Kinnauri and Lahuli folksongs. The participants left the audience spellbound with their mind blowing and enthralling voices. The performance of the students was judged by Mr. Anoop Dilta (Department of Geography) and Dr. Kusum Sharma (Department of Botany) The first position was bagged by Muskan Negi (BA II Geography Hons.), the second position was clinched by Tanvi Hetta (BA I English Hons.) and third position was bagged by Priyana (BA I Pass Course) The proceedings of the event were conducted by Deepti Sood, Chahat Sood, Shruti and Palk from the department of history. Ms. Sangeeta Sharma and Ms. Punam Chauhan were the convenors of the event.
OCTOBER 11 -17, 2023	Poverty Eradication Week “Empathy In Action”	Dedicated to making a meaningful impact on societal issues, the Economics Department fervently observed Poverty Eradication Week from October 11th to 17th, 2023. This week-long initiative saw active student engagement in a diverse array of impactful activities, including poster making, film screenings, Nukkad Natak (street play), and a sensitization program. The collective efforts of the students played a pivotal role in the success of the week, creating heightened awareness about poverty and eliciting emotions of empathy and compassion within the college community and beyond.

October 9, 2023	Economics News Analysis	The Economics Department at St. Bede's College, Shimla, organized a dynamic event focusing on the critical analysis of current economic news. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from second and third-year BA Economics Honours students.
October 05, 2023	Event: Participation in “Lit mingle” at College of Excellence Government College Sanjauli	Objective: To foster a love of literature and writing and to promote literacy, creativity and intellectual development among the students. On October 5, 2023 the Central of Excellence College, Government College Sanjauli, organized an English Literary Fest, “Litmingle” for all the students wherein it extended an invitation to all the colleges of the city to participate. St. Bede’s College was also invited to be a part of this fest. The students of the college enthusiastically took part in the various competitions organized by them. Eight teams from various colleges participated, twelve students from St. Bede’s took part in the activities organized.
October3,2023	World Habitat Day	Description: The Department of History in collaboration with the Department of Geography observed World Habitat Day, under the theme “Resilient urban economies. 30/09/2023	Youth festival Day 1	Description: On the final day of the Youth Festival 2023-24, the chief guest, Sh. K.L. Thakur, delivered an inspiring speech, motivating the students to work hard and build a successful life for themselves. Finally, prizes were distributed to the winners, and the chief guest was escorted out successfully. The event proved to be an enriching experience for the students.

28/09/2023	Youth festival Day 1	Description: The Himachal Pradesh University had organized the Youth Festival 2023-24 (Group – 1) in Nalagarh, Solan. The festival was inaugurated by the Education minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shr. Rohit Thakur and the MLA of Nalagarh, Shr. K.L. Thakur, which was followed by the lighting of the lamp after which the function proceeded.
September 28, 2023	Event: Book Review – Closing Ceremony	Objective: To develop critical thinking skills and express their thoughts and opinions related to the books read. The closing ceremony of the reading week was held on September 28, 2023 marked by the presence of the prolific writer Ms. Minakshi Chaudhry. During the reading week the participants were encouraged to spend some time reading their respective books in the library; they then gave a review of the books read by them on the closing ceremony. The ceremony began with felicitation of the guest by the principal Dr. Sr. Molly Abraham. This was followed by sharing reviews of the books by students. Further Ms. Minakshi Chaudhry spoke about her journey, and answered several questions asked by the teachers and students. The reading week culminated with the chief guest’s wise words, and interesting insights. Outcome: The students gained confidence to express their views in front of others.

September 26, 2023	"Economics Spotlight: Illuminating the Lives of Keynes and Marx"	The Economics Spotlight event was conceived with the purpose of igniting interest in the personal lives of eminent economists among students of the Economics Department. The focus was particularly on luminaries such as Keynes and Karl Marx, aiming to provide a deeper understanding of their lives through engaging presentations and interactive sessions.

September 22, 2023	Quiz on “Future Business Sharks 2.0”	Department of Commerce and Management organised a quiz on “Future Business Sharks 2.0”. The resource person for the session was Mr. Ankur Grover, Senior Verbal Faculty from Bulls Eye, Chandigarh. Mr. Grover emphasized that having innovative ideas is a fundamental aspect of the entrepreneurial journey and discussed how one can bring these ideas to life.
September 21-28, 2023	Event: Reading Week	Objective: To inculcate the habit of reading. The Department of English St. Bede's College in collaboration with the library committee organized “Reading Week" in the college. It was inaugurated by Dr. Sapna Sharma on 21st September in the library. The participants were asked to read any book of their choice issued from the library for a week. A Google form was shared every evening during the reading week with the participants to monitor their progress. The closing ceremony was held on September 28th marked by the presence of the prolific writer Ms. Minakshi Chaudhry. Outcome: The students developed an interest in reading and learned to critically analyze books.
September 21,2023	International Day of Peace	Description: On September 21,2023 the department of History and Political Science organised a session on anecdote narration to observe International Day of Peace based on the theme “End Racism. Build Peace”. The session aimed to harness the power of personal anecdotes to illuminate the impact of racism on individuals and communities while emphasizing the role each person plays in creating a more harmonious world. On September 22,2023 Peace Rally was organized as a part of International Day of Peace from Sanjauli to Navbahar chowk by the student the faculty.
September 20, 2023	Decorations for Fresher’s	Description: The Fresher's event was organized on the 20th of September, 2023. The theme for the event was Illuminous, the auditorium was decorated accordingly, the stage was decorated with CDs to give it a fresh party look.
September 18, 2023	Rally on Suicide Prevention	Description: On September 18, 2023 the NCC Unit, St. Bede’s College Shimla conducted a rally on ‘Suicide Prevention’ from St. Bede’s College, Navbahar to Sanjaulli. A total of 15 cadets were a part of the rally.
September 18, 2023	Auditions for Youth Festival	Description: On 18th September, the auditions for the selection of students for the forthcoming Youth Festival were held. Students presented their talents and abilities for various events and competitions. The responsibility for selecting the best students who would ultimately represent the college was entrusted upon Ms. Jagriti, Ms. Charu, Sr. Shanti and Mrs. Sangeeta. Impartial judgements were made by the judges and the following students were selected.
September 16, 2023	Ozone Day Poster Making Competition	Description: The Fine Arts Society celebrated World Ozone Day on 16th September, 2023 by organizing a themed poster making competition. Ms. Preeti from botany department along with Mr. Sanjeev Kumar and Mr. Anoop Dilta from the geography department were the judges of the competition.
September12, 2023	Event: Guest Lecture: Preparation of Competitive Examinations	Objective: To create awareness about the recent trends of competitive exams among students. The department of English, St. Bede’s College organized a career counselling session on September12, 2023 at 2.00 p.m. The session was attended by teachers and students of the department. It was an interactive session where there was a talk followed by a discussion on "Preparation of competitive examination." Ms. Chitwan Jamwal an alumnus of the college was the resource person. The students were guided on how to prepare for exams like NET, GATE etc. It was a very interactive session which was attended by students from both UG and PG programs. The session came to an end with discussion on various approaches that can be followed by the students. Outcome: The students became aware about the preparation of competitive exams and felt motivated to work hard.
September 8, 2023	"Enlightening Minds: St. Bede's Economics Department Sets Sail On World Literacy Day"	In celebration of World Literacy Day, the Economics Department at St. Bede's College Shimla orchestrated a meaningful excursion to kindle a passion for literacy and education among young learners. This collaborative initiative involved both faculty and students, converging at the Government School in Sanjauli, Himachal Pradesh, to create a lasting impact on students from LKG to 5th class.
September 5, 2023	Teacher’s Day	Description: The teacher's day function was celebrated on 5th of September 2023. The Fine Arts Society decorated the stage with handmade flowers and balloons. The fine arts Society members even made title badges for the teachers on theme for old Bollywood movies.

Date: August 7,2023	Hiroshima Day	Description: As part of Hiroshima Remembrance Day, Miraasa- the Heritage Club organized a power-point presentation based on the theme “Nuclear Weapons and Global Risks.” The presentation was shown to honor the historical significance of Hiroshima Day and to sensitize students about the horrors of war so that they are aware about the urgent need for global peace.
June 21, 2023	International Yoga Day	Description: On June 21, 2023 the NCC Unit, St. Bede’s College Shimla under 7HP(I) Coy NCC Shimla celebrated the International Yoga Day. A total of 43 cadets participated and performed yoga.

18-Mar-2023	Walk for Health	The “WALK FOR HEALTH” activity was conducted by Health Club, St. Bede’s College Shimla on 18th March 2023 under the supervision of Dr. Kusum Sharma and Miss Jagriti Chauhan. The purpose of this activity was to make everyone aware about the health benefits of walking and staying active. All the volunteers reported at the main gate of the college at 10:30 A.M. The concerned teachers made all the volunteers aware about the importance of this activity and the health benefits of walking like- improving balance, blood circulation, limiting sickness and building bone mass etc. The route of forest road was chosen for the walk as the nature-filled, lush green road provided students with the best opportunity to enjoy this walk to the fullest. Dr. Kusum Sharma acquainted the students with the information related to various medicinal plants and their usage. It was a two hour long physical activity which proved beneficial in teaching students health benefits in practicality. The activity came to an end at 12:30 P.M. with all the volunteers thanking the accompanying teachers and taking a resolution to make such healthy walks a part of their daily lives.
10-Mar-2023	NCC Raising Day	NCC Unit, St. Bede's College under 7HP (I) Coy NCC Shimla organized an event to celebrate its 3rd NCC Raising Day under theme Red Feather of Reminiscence. The Chief guest for the day was Commanding officer Col Desh Raj Gargey. Cadets and ANO's/CTO's from St. Edward's School and APG Shimla University graced the occasion. The event commenced with drill by the cadets followed by a cultural program which included a role play on Rani Lakshmi Bai.
09-Mar-2023	Inter-ship Poetry Writing competition	The Poetry Society organised an Inter-ship Poetry Writing competition on the occasion of International Women's Day. The theme encompasses not only the conventional concept of sisterhood—love between siblings—but also the love, compassion, and solidarity among all women who stand up for one another in patriarchal societies.
09-Mar-2023	International Womens' Day 2023	The Women Cell of St. Bede’s College celebrated International Women’s Day on March 9, 2023. The theme for the event was “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”. The guest speaker Prof Neelima Kanwar, Dean, Faculty of Languages, HPU emphasised the importance of technology in bringing gender issues to light.
04-Mar-2023	Celebration of International Women’s Day 2023	Sixty students from St. Bede’s College went to Gaiety Theatre for the celebration of International Women’s Day 2023 which was organised by the Directorate of Women and Child Development, H.P. The two documentaries “No Woman’s Land” and “Breaking the Ice” emphasized on the struggle of women for equality. These documentaries were directed by Dr Devkanya Thakur, who guided the students about filmmaking process and shared her creative inspirations.
03-March-2023	Display of Medicinal Plants of Shimla	A display on medicinal plants of District Shimla was organised by Herbal Garden Club. Students of B.Sc. III year displayed herbs like Banafsha, Brahmi, Aloe vera, Tulsi etc with their medicinal uses and mode of propagation.
(28-Feb)-(1 Mar)-2023	National Science Day	Keeping in view the theme, for the National Science Day of this year “Global Science for Global Wellbeing”, St. Bede’s College, Shimla in collaboration with prominent organizations that work towards advancing science education and research, Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) & Indian Science Congress Association, (ISCA), Shimla Chapter, organised two day program entitled “Discoveries in Science and Sustainable Development” to create awareness and promote scientific thinking among students and general public. The program was attended by students of various colleges of namely Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalya (RKMV) Shimla, Government College, Theog, College of Excellence; Sanjauli, Shimla, Shoolini Institute of Life Sciences and Business Management (SILB); Solan, Rajiv Gandhi Government degree college Chaura maidan: Shimla, Shoolini University Solan, and St. Bede’s College, Shimla.
22-Feb-2023	Result Announcement For Theatre Shorts!	The Theatre Club and the Department of English, St. Bedes College, Shimla, organised an Online Inter-college Monologue Competition – Theatre Shorts! Videos upto 5 minutes were submitted by students performing famous monologues from various English plays. Our esteemed judge was Ms Vandana Bhagra, Publisher and Editor at Keekli: An Ode to Innocence. Here are the final winners: First Prize: Nikita Thakur, St. Bede’s College, Shimla. Second Prize: Pranshu Aaditya, College of Excellence, Sanjauli. Third Prize: Shefali Rapta, St. Bede’s College, Shimla.
14-Feb-2023	Felicitation of RDC Holders	SUO Maanika Sethi and LCpl Ivy Bhettan were felicitated in the college for attending Republic Day Camp, Delhi. They shared their experience during the camp.
30-Dec-2022	WESTERN DANCE WORKSHOP	The Dance Society “Danceteria” of St Bede’s college conducted a western dance workshop by Mr. Chirag and his team from “Obstinados the fam” (a Western Dance Academy) in the college auditorium. A total of 21 girls from theDance Society, attended the workshop. They learnt the foundational steps of “Hip-Hop” and were able to unlock their potential as dancers.
24-Dec-2022	Christmas Celebration	Under the guidance of our Principal, Prof. Sr. Molly Abraham, NSS Unit has reached out to the less privileged to ensure that they are not left out from the Christmas festivities. For this purpose, the NSS Unit of the college visited New Langer Hall near IGMC Shimla, on December 24, 2022 and donated food grains and other commodities to the NGO, ‘Almighty Blessings’. Volunteers interacted with the founder of the NGO, Mr. Sarvjeet Singh Bobby, patients and their attendees. Our college Manager, Sr Reena Kurian NSS Incharges and volunteers also selflessly served lunch to the people present there.
22-Dec-2022	Visit to Directorate of Horticulture	Students of B.Sc. II year and M.Sc. I Semester visited the Directorate of Horticulture, Nav bahar. Students visited the polyhouses and nurseries exhibiting various types of flowering plants. Dr. Sangeeta scientist delivered a talk on various aspects of floriculture and gardening techniques. The visit was informative and fruitful for the students of botany.
09-Dec-2022	Role-play on Brave Warriors	The NCC Cadets went to Government Sr. Sec. School Dhalli for the role play on Brave Warriors of India under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. They played a role play on Rani Laxmibai.
08-Dec-2022	Mass Awareness Rally against Female Foeticide	Zoo Quest, Zoology Department, St. Bede's College Shimla organized a mass awareness rally from Navbahar Chowk to Sanjauli chowk, to spread awareness against Female Foeticide. The students expressed their emotions through posters and slogans, made people aware against Female foeticide. Poster making competition for second year and slogan writing competition for third year were also held for boosting the enthusiasm among students.

School Dhalli and presented a lecture and role play on Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan on the day of remembrance of 26/11 Mumbai Attack under Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The students of BSc (Hons) Microbiology III gave a power-point presentation on the topic,’’ Role of microorganisms in sustainable development” to highlight the value of healthy soil and to promote the sustainable management of soil resources.
05-Dec-2022	Placement Drive	A Placement Drive by Mr. Sitendar Seharawat from Mindful Souls in collaboration with Department of Psychology was held for second and third year students of Psychology in the college auditorium at 10.30 A.M. Students from 2 nd year and 3 rd year were selected for paid internship on the bases of interview.
01-Dec-2022	World AIDS Day	Red Ribbon Club of St. Bede’s College commemorated World AIDS Day in the college auditorium on the theme “EQUALIZE”. Red ribbon club volunteers guided the gathering on the topics of HIV/AIDS, securing the rights of people living with HIV, and fighting HIV stigma and discrimination. An educational video on the same was shown as well. The event was sponsored by CMO Shimla and District AIDS Programme Officer Shimla. The chief guest for the same was Dr. Chitwan, Drug Addiction Program Officer Shimla.

There were five invited talks by eminent speakers. 18 oral research papers and 16 posters were presented by researchers from across the country on innovations in Science and Technology.
28-Nov-2022	NCC Carnival	The NCC Unit, at St. Bede's College under 7 HP (I) Coy, NCC Shimla organized a fun filled Carnival to celebrate the NCC Day. The Carnival which was set up by the Cadets included various food stalls and other stalls.
26-Nov-2022	Book review competition on anthologies by contemporary poets.	A book review competition on anthologies by contemporary poets was held on the theme – ‘Make the World A Better Place To Live In’. Students of B.A 2 nd and 3 rd year and B.A English Hons. 3 rd year took part in the competition.
26-Nov-2022	Documentary on Making of Indian Constitution on theme ‘Samvidhaan aur Hum.	The Department of Political Science in collaboration with ‘After Thoughts -Club’ celebrated National Constitution Day. A documentary on making of Indian Constitution was screened which was followed by a small discussion. The activity was organized to impart constitutional values to the students.
21-Nov-2022	Silent March against Eve Teasing	A silent march was organised by the Community Outreach Cell of St. Bede’s College, against Eve Teasing. The due permission was given by Mr. Aditya Negi, D.C Shimla. St. Bede’s college strongly protested against this social evil by silently marching from the college towards Chotta Shimla. During the march students held placards with slogans such as "Street Harassment is a Crime", "Stop Staring", "My Space, My Right" and "Stop Eve Teasing."
18-Nov-2022	Blood Donation Camp	A Blood Donation Camp was organized by the NSS Unit of the college. The program started at 10:30 am, followed by Powerpoint presentation on importance of blood donation . Many students and college staff donated blood and became a part of the program. A team of doctor and staff of blood bank, IGMC, Shimla came for blood collection. A Donar Card and refreshment were given to each donor as a token of appreciation. A total of 48 units were collected by the end of the day.

15-Nov-2022	Powerpoint Presentation by BCom Ist year students on topics	The students were divided into four The students were divided into four teams and each team was assigned to present one topic via PowerPoint. The teams prepared their PPTs by using ICT tools viz. Canva and Microsoft softwares, laptop and smartboard. This activity was carried out in order to help the students build up their self-confidence, be familiar with the ICT tools, develop team spirit and also leadership qualities. After the presentation, the students were asked to share their PPTs so that they get broader knowledge on all the topics presented.
10-Nov-2022	Maths Quiz	The Department of Mathematics of St. Bede’s College, Shimla organized a Quiz on transportation and game theory. The Quiz was among students of management and major mathematics. The quiz helped students to analyze themselves and motivated them to study more. The students also took notes on the various questions asked in the quiz.
05-Nov-2022	Mass Awareness Campaign	The NCC Cadets of St. Bede’s College, Shimla conducted a Mass Awareness Programme. This Awareness Programme was held on November 5, 2022 in Khanlag Village, Distt. Solan, HP. The cadets raised awareness on Blood Donation, Elections and National Integration.

This orientation program is an informative session to guide the students about library services, facilities, resources and policies that will help in their studies, research and field work.
31-Oct-2022	National Unity Day	On the occasion of National Unity Day , a ‘Unity Run’ was organized by the cadets of St. Bede’s College under 7HP (I) Coy NCC, Shimla. A total of 25 cadets were a part of this run. The cadets held hands and ran together to spread the message of Unity.
04-Nov-2022	Painting Competition under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’	A painting competition was held by the Department of Hindi on the theme ‘Bharat Ki Veerangnaen’ under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in which B.A. and B.Com students participated with enthusiasm. Portrays of female freedom strugglers – Rani Lakshmibai, Begum Hazrat Mahal, Sarojini Naidu etc. were made by B.A and B.Com students.
31-Oct-2022	Unity Day Celebration	The NSS Unit of St. Bede’s College, Shimla, organized “Run For Unity” on October 31, 2022 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Home Minister and the ‘Iron Man’ of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Through a powerpoint presentation, Sardar Patel’s legacy and his tenuous efforts in integrating over 565 princely states into the Union of India were remembered and commended . Later, Ms Poonam Chauhan, Deptt of History, administered all the participants the oath to protect the integrity of India.

30-Oct-2022	Clothes Donation Drive (Extension Activity)	The Department of Political Science in collaboration with The Rotaract Club, Shimla organized a ‘Clothes Donation Drive’ in Bangla Colony, Sanjauli. The students enthusiastically participated in the drive and distributed the collected winter clothes amongst the needy people.

20-Oct-2022	Awareness Extension Activity.	Students of B. Sc.II, visited Govt. Primary School, Engine Ghar, Sanjauli for an awareness activity to celebrate ‘World Food Day’ through Nukkad Natak and games and tell the small children the importance of nutritious food.

20-Oct-2022	World CRISPR Day	On the occasion of World CRISPR day the Department Of Biotechnology of St. Bede’s College organized a debate between the second and third year students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology and Microbiology. The theme for the debate was “Confronting CRISPR: The Ethical, Social and Scientific Issues around CRISPR”. The debate helped the students to think critically about the merits and demerits of the novel genetic engineering technique.
19-Oct-2022	Pre-Diwali Celebration	To keep the Diwali spirit alive, the Department of Economics set up a hand-painted Diya stall in the college courtyard. Around 20 students and teachers of the department displayed their hand painted diyas. The students sold approximately 250 beautifully hand-painted diyas as a part of Pre-Diwali celebration in the college.

12-Oct-2022	Mehendi Competition.	To celebrate Karwa Chauth, Economics department organized a mehendi competition in which students showcased their skills of mehendi designing. The competition was judged on the basis of neatness, creativity as well as speed. About 25 students participated and the festive spirit continued after the competition
12-Oct-2022	Enrollment of new cadets.	The NCC Unit enrolled the new batch of students for the academic session 2022-23. The students were interviewed and made to undergo certain physical tests for the same.
12-Oct-2022	World Music Day.	To celebrate the World Music Day a workshop was conducted by the Music Department in collaboration with Cultural Society and Music Club of the college. Several activities like folk songs and folk dances exhibiting the traditions of Himachal Pradesh were performed by the artists from the Department of Language, Art & Culture, Himachal Pradesh.
11-Oct-2022	International Day of the Girl Child.	To celebrate the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child, the students of Economics department presented an informative street play at the Navbahar Chowk. The play highlighted the problems that women face in the society such as improper medical facilities, domestic violence, acid attacks, eve teasing, and unequal work opportunities. The play was concluded by creating awareness among women about their rights and how they can access them through various government policies.
10-Oct-2022	World Mental Health Day.	Department of Psychology celebrated the World Mental Health Day on the theme “Make Mental Health and Well being For All a Global Priority:” The students performed a skit, dance drama, songs based on the theme of mental health, to sensitize the audience about the importance of mental health.

01-Oct-2022	Fresher’s 2022.	To welcome the first year students in the college the seniors organized a Freshers’ party .The theme of the party was, “Masquerade Party~ Querencia”. A cultural programme was performed by the seniors. The Freshers’ showcased their talents through a ramp walk and various talent rounds on this ocassion.
30-Sep-2022	Mock UN Security Council Session, MUN	The MUN Society of St. Bede’s College organised a mock United Nations Session on the theme “Russian Invasion of Ukraine”. The students presented their interests and view-points as five permanent security council countries’ delegates – Russia, United Kingdom, U.S.A, France and China.
29-Sep-2022	Orientation for first year Computer science students.	An orientation session for BCA and BA/Bsc first year students took place in computer science lab. Final year students organized the session.
29-Sep-2022	Social at Bishop Cotton School Shimla.	Bishop Cotton School invited thirty two students of the college for a social to their school. The students interacted and played games with the boys in the school.
28-Sep-2022	Workshop on Career Guidance &Amp; Counseling.	Ms. Gursheen Kaur (Counseling specialist and Regional manager, PIBM Chandigarh) and Mr. Deepak Sisodiya (Career counselor and motivational speaker PIBM, Chandigarh) informed the students regarding various career options available to them after completing their graduation degree and what jobs the students can enter. Students were informed about the MBIT Psychometric Test and how one can use this test to find out their capabilities.
24-Sep-2022	NSS Day Celebration	The NSS Unit celebrated the NSS Day with great joy and enthusiasm. A power point presentation was made highlighting the motto of NSS . The volunteers also performed a nukkad natak on the topic: ‘Food and Nutrition’ which depicted the importance of eating healthy food. Further, the celebration was made colorful by the NSS volunteers, by presenting different dance performances like Bhangra, Gidda and Nati, during the celebration.
24-Sep-2022	Electoral Literacy Awareness	The students of Electoral Literacy Club, with the nodal officer Ms. Komal Sharma attended an event organized by State Election Commission, Himachal Pradesh in the Gaiety Theatre, Shimla. Chief Election Commissioner of India Sh. Rajeev Kumar was the chief guest and he inaugurated an exhibition and Election song composed by State Police band 'Harmony of Pines'. The students of the college participated in various electoral awareness activities and put forward their thoughts on importance of voting.
23-Sep-2022	IPR Awareness Programme	An online IPR awareness program was conducted by the Department of Biotechnology, in association with The Patent Office, Kolkata under Department for Promotion of Industry Amp; Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Amp; Industry. The resource person for the said webinar was Shri Suman Sil, Examiner of Patents & Designs (GR. Gazetted) who effectually discussed the importance of IPR and its various forms with the students as well as the faculty.
23-Sep-2022	Health and Fitness workshop.	Zoology Department, conducted a Health and Fitness Workshop. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. R.K Patial. An aerobic and flexibility session was also conducted for the students by Mr Sharik.
22-Sep-2022	Presentation for school students on “Computer Awareness”	Department of Computer Science and Mathematics organized a seminar on “Computer Awareness” for the students of Class VIII of Govt. Model Girls Senior Secondary School, Portmore, Shimla. Students of BCA and B.SC made the children aware about the basics of computer, scope, and its importance in Mathematics. More than 160 students participated in the seminar.
21-Sep-2022	'International Peace Day'.	The department of Political Science organized a Power-point presentation competition for the students of B.A- I to observe the 'International Peace Day'. The students actively participated and presented the contemporary disputes existing in the world which included: Palestine-Israel Conflict, Russo- Ukraine Conflict, etc.
20-Sep-2022	Chhatra Samvaad	A "Chhatra Samvaad" was organised, to create awareness among the students and staff about NationalEducation Policy- 2022. Sh. (19-26)-Sep-2022	Interactive session on “Real World Applications on Table of Numbers or Data”.	Mathematics department of St Bede’s college, Shimla organized a 7 day orientation program on “Real world Applications on Table of Numbers or Data” in which the students of BSc. (Non Medical), BA, B Com and BCA participated. The idea behind having such an orientation was to teach students about some basic concepts of matrices, its uses in day to day life . It was a great experience for the teachers to watch their students teaching other students.
(19-23)-Sep-2022	Field Survey.	Department of Geography, organized a field survey to Tirthan valley, Banjar, Kullu to gain practical knowledge related to the subject. There were 27 students along with 3 teachers who went for the survey.
(19-21)-Sep-2022	Youth Festival.	Youth Festival 2021-22 of Himachal Pradesh University was held in Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Longwood, Shimla. In Group -1, 422 participants from 53 colleges were registered. The students of the college participated in activities like quiz competition, elocution and cartoon making competition, on the first day. On the second and the third day, they participated in on spot photography, debate, collage making and poster making competitions
17-Sep-2022	International Microorganism Day	The Department of Microbiology celebrated International Microorganism Day, .to raise awareness on the essential role that microbes play in day to day life. Various Inter department competitions were organized , such as, poster making, PowerPoint presentation and quiz.
17-Sep-2022	Guest Lecture on Research Methodology.	Dr. Devinder Sharma, Professor in Commerce from HPU delivered a guest lecture on the topic “Research Methodology” to M.Com students. He gave a detailed analysis on review of literature, hypothesis testing and research methods.

16-Sep-2022	Ozone Day Celebration.	On the occasion of World Ozone Day Dept.of Geography organized Inter-College Quiz competition. Five Govt. Colleges also participated in the event. First position grabbed by GC Sanjauli, St. Bede’s College got the Second position and GC Dhami got 3rd position.
15-Sep-2022	Book Review Competition.	A book review competition was organized by the Book Club in collaboration with the library committee in the college library. In the competition the participants reviewed the book of their choice along with a presentation on the same for two minutes.
15-Sep-2022	Orientation for First Year Biotechnology Student	An orientation program was organized by the Department of Biotechnology for the 1st year students of B.Sc. (Hon’s.) Biotechnology to make them aware of the academic aspects of Biotechnology course and inform them about the rules and regulations of the college.

13-Sep-2022	Visit to Himalayan Forest Research Institute, Panthaghati.	The Department of Zoology, organized an educational research with the students of (Zoology SEC) B.Sc. 3rd year to the Himalayan Forest Research Institute, Panthaghati. The students were introduced to a variety of species, including mushrooms, pink rhododendrons, moths, and butterflies.
12-Sep-2022	Voluntary Blood Donation Initiative on International Day of Charity.	The NCC unit, St. Bede’s College, Shimla, under 7HP (I) Coy NCC Shimla in collaboration with the Zoology department started the voluntary blood donation initiative. The cadets discussed the importance of charity and shared their experiences in surgical mask donation during COVID-19 pandemic and teaching women handicraft skills.
12-Sep-2022	Students’ Orientation.	An orientation programme was organized by the Department of Music in which the batch of the first year students was formerly introduced in the department. A presentation was shown to them about the department activities. Further there was an informal interaction between the new comers and the seniors.
10-Sep-2022	Investiture Ceremony and Orientation Programme.	An Investiture Ceremony was organized to administer the oath of office to the newly elected Student Council 2022-23. Smt.Satwant Atwal Trivedi presided over the function as the chief Guest. 09-Sep-2022	Miss Himachal Princess Contest.	Amar Ujala and Goyal Motors Pvt. Ltd. sponsors of the beauty pageant held the registrations for “Miss Himachal princess contest”. Dr. Vandana Thakur, from the department of English, guided and encouraged the students to register for the contest.Students were enthusiastic and above sixty registered themselves for the beauty pageant as it provides various opportunities and career options.

(1-30)-Sep-2022	Poshan Mah Celebration	The month of September is celebrated as Rashtriya Poshan Maah under the Poshan Abhiyaan. An array of activities such as quiz, poster making and slogan writing competitions were conducted by NSS Unit of St. Bede’s College in order to spread the message of holistic nutrition. A talk on ‘Obesity Management and Importance of Balanced Diet’ was also organized. Further, the volunteers were sensitized about the importance of water resource management through a power point presentation.
31-Aug-2022	Retirement of Mrs. Anuja Sharma	Head of Department English, Associate Professor, Ms. Anuja Sharma, retired on August 31, 2022 after a dedicated and committed service of 37 years in St. Bede's College. The management and staff of the college wish her a happy and healthy retired life.
30-Aug-2022	Webinar on ‘Social Detoxification’ by Placement Cell.	The Placement Cell organized a webinar on ‘Digital Detoxification’. The resource person for the webinar was Prof. Kalpana S.Kumaran, HOD at PGDM Digital Marketing & Amp Transformation ITM Business School, Navi Mumbai. She talked about the digital detoxification and how it has impacted our lives.
30-Aug-2022	Book Exhibition.	An Exhibition of books was conducted in the college library. More than 200 books were displayed. Faculty members and students from all streams visited the exhibition. The main purpose of this exhibition was to acquaint and familiarize the students with the collection of books available in the library.
29-Aug-2022	Health Awareness Program for Students on “Breast Cancer”.	A Health Awareness Program for students on “Breast Cancer” was conducted in the college. More than 200 students participated in this program. The program was under the aegis of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (H.P) and Health Club of the college. Dr. Pratima Thakur (Cancer Specialist), Indira Gandhi ,Medical College and Hospital Shimla was the guest speaker of the program.
29-Aug-2022	Celebration of National Sports Day	National Sports Day was celebrated in the college campus under the banner of NSO and the Department of Physical Education. Many sports tournaments were conducted on this occasion like, Yoga, Table Tennis, Badminton and Basketball tournaments. The students who held the first and second position were felicitated by giving them medals. More than 100 students participated in various sports activities.
27-Aug-2022	Visit to CPRI of B.Sc. students.	A visit to CPRI was organised for students of B.Sc.(Med.and Non-Med.) and B.Sc(Hons.).Students visited the museum, saw electron microscope, other instruments and tissue culture lab. It was an informative visit.
26-Aug-2022	Intra-college Activities on HIV Prevention and Awareness Campaign	Red Ribbon Club organized Intra-college activities for, “ HIV Prevention and Awareness Campaign”,to celebrate the International Youth Day w.e.f. August 12-31, 2022 under the theme ‘Intergenerational Solidarity : Creating a World of All Ages’. The campaign’s Slogan was, “HIV Ke Saamne – Hum Jhukenge Nahi”. Volunteers participated in, Hat speech of one-minute, Digital poster and Instagram reel competition on various sub- themes.
24-Aug-2022	Visit to CPRI of B.Sc. students.	A visit to CPRI was organized for students of B.Sc.(Medical and Non-Medical) and B. Sc (Hon’s.). Students visited the museum; where they saw an electron microscope, other instruments and the tissue culture lab. It was an informative visit.
24-Aug-2022	College Elections.	Elections for the student council 2022-23 of the college were held online. The results of the same were declared in afternoon at 3.30 p.m.
20-Aug-2022	Society Fair.	A Society Fair for second and third year students was held in the college at 10.30.a.m. The conveners and members got the students enrolled into various societies and clubs of the college.
20-Aug-2022	Anecdote Narration	The students of Political Science department participated in an "Anecdote Narration" competition and highlighted the plight of the vulnerable sections of the society which included the Anti-Sikh Riots (1984), domestic violence, partition stories, etc. The theme of the event was 'The Unheard Voices'. The students shared real life stories of the victims and did justice to the theme.
(19- 26)-Aug-2022	Basic Leadership Camp.	Cadet Ivy Bhettan attended Basic Leadership Camp (BLC) in Malout, Punjab from August 19-22, 2022. She was the only SW cadet from 7HP (I) COY NCC SHIMLA and represented the Shimla group. She bagged 4 medals- A gold medal for the group song, silver for the skit and 2 bronze medals for debate and dance competitions.
18-Aug-2022	Awareness Talk for the Faculty Members on the topic “Making a Difference as a Teacher”.	Dr. Michael S. David, motivational speaker educated the faculty members on how they could become a guide, a mentor and a friend to the students.
18-Aug-2022	Seminar on the topic, “Winners’ Edge” organized by Department of Commerce & Management.	Dr. Michael S. David, motivational speaker visited the college. He delivered a motivational lecture wherein he gave some lessons to the students on how to stay positive, be dedicated towards one’s goal and find a winner in you by stating many real life inspiring examples.
18-Aug-2022	Tree plantation within the college campus: “Lets plant hope”.	Department of Geography planted 15 plant saplings viz. 8 Cedrus Deodara, 4 oak and 3 walnut plants in the college premises.
17-Aug-2022	Physical Fitness Test.	Physical Fitness Test was conducted on 17/09/2022 (Saturday) in the college campus. Around 42 students participated in this test. The test was conducted under the banner of NSO & Health Club. Several items such as Sit-ups, Standing Broad Jump, Shuttle Run, Medicine Ball Throw and 600 Meter Run were included in this test.
15-Aug-2022	“Awareness Program on Indian Independence”.	The students of the department of history approached and interviewed the general public by asking them questions related to India@75.
15-Aug-2022	District Level Independence Day Celebration.	14 cadets of St. Bede’s College Shimla, participated in the district level Independence Day celebration. They were part of the NCC SW contingent and marched proudly on The Ridge, Shimla. Cadet Angelina Tej commanded the SW contingent.
(13-15)-Aug-2022	“Har Ghar Tiranga”.	Independence Day was celebrated under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative of the Government, for three days. On August13, flag hoisting and patriotic songs were sung by the students. On August 14, the National Flag was hoisted and ‘Vande Matram’ was sung by the students. On August 15, there was flag hoisting in the college by the principal and a cultural programme was organized by the Cultural Society in which the students sang many patriotic songs.
12-Aug-2022	International Youth Day	A State Level Function was organised by the HP State AIDS Control Society and DTE, Health and Family Welfare, Shimla. On this occasion the Red Ribbon Club volunteers of St. Bede’s College participated in Umbrella painting based on the topics –“Promoting HIV testing, Toll Free Number 1097, NACO App and Stigma and Discrimination”, at JLN Fine Arts College Chaura Maidan. The volunteers also performed a skit on the topic - HIV Prevention Campaign at Hotel Holiday Home, Shimla.Honorable Health Minister Dr. Rajeev Saizal addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of students of the college for their performance.
12-Aug-2022	Online Inter College Essay Writing Competition.	On the occasion of International Youth Day, ‘MIRAASA’ The Heritage Club of St. Bede’s College, organised an online Inter College essay writing competition. The topic of the same was, “Love your folks: Importance of Intergenerational Relationship.”
(1-7)-Aug-2022	Nutrition week.	A canteen was organized by the students on the theme, “Flavors of the World” to celebrate the nutrition week. The students of B.A. 2nd and 3 rd year participated in the event.
06-Aug-2022	Heritage Walk to the State Museum, Shimla.	The Heritage Club, “MIRAASA” in collaboration with the NCC unit of St. Bede’s College organized a Heritage Walk to the State Museum. The event was organised under, ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, based on the theme ‘History of Independence’.
13-Jul-2022	Induction for Second Year	The induction programme was organised by Dr Vandana Thakur from the Department of English on July 13, 2022 for the second year students and the resource person was Ms Maheema Dutt, who motivated and guided pupils to live life with enthusiasm, honesty and encouraged them to help others selflessly. The talk was based on the motto of the college which is "Non Nobis Solum"(not for ourselves alone). The session was highly interactive and a nice start for the girls after the hybrid mode due to Covid. The students enjoyed and participated enthusiastically in the discussions that were held during the session.
26-Jun-2022	International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2022	A state-level awareness programme was organized in Shimla on the occasion of the International Drug Prevention Day on June 26th to create awareness among public about the ill-effects of consuming drugs and substances. A marathon was also organized by HP Police from The Ridge to Peterhof with the theme “Drug free Himachal, Say no to drugs”. The volunteers from St. Bede’s College, Shimla attended this awareness programme. Honorable Chief Minister Jairam Thakur addressed the gathering and announced that his government is setting up a special task force headed by an Additional Director General of Police to curb the menace of drugs.
21-Jun-2022	International Yoga Day	The NSS unit and Physical Education Department celebrated International Yoga Day. On this occasion, various online and offline activities were conducted which includes poster making, essay writing competition and videos while performing different yoga asanas. A week long Yoga Camp was organized and a rally was also conducted to spread awareness about the Importance of Yoga which was followed by an interactive session with locals.
30-May-2022	Financial Lab cum Incubation Centre (FLIC) Inauguration and Workshop	A Financial Lab cum Incubation Centre (FLIC) was inaugurated in the college on May 30, 2022 to support the local women micro entrepreneurs, to rehabilitate and make their businesses more competitive and contributively scalable. Also, the college aims to skill their students in entrepreneurship, preparing them to build sustainable livelihood opportunities for themselves and nurture entrepreneurial mindset. We adopt the hands-on learning module to impart such knowledge and skills to the students through workshops, simulation, video sessions and e-learning modules. This will also help our students to see the real world of entrepreneurship and become more confident, self- resilient and self-reliant while pursuing career opportunities.
24-May-2022	International Biodiversity Day	Department of Botany celebrated International Biodiversity Day on 24/5/2022. There was a plantation drive by M.Sc students of medicinal plants in pots. This was followed by an invited talk by Dr. Vaneet Jishtu ( Scientist,HFRI) on the topic"Mountain forests in a changing environment - Realizing mountain Biodiversity and community involvement". Presentation by M.Sc.II Semester students on Biodiversity.
05-May-2022	Role Play on the theme “-PIONEER INDIAN WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS”	Under the “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, the students of BBA IV Semester presented role play on the theme “Pioneer Indian Women Entrepreneurs” and the judges for the event was Ms. Unnati Chauhan(Assistant Professor, Economics Department) and Ms .Poonam Chauhan Verma ( Assistant Professor, History Department). This role play was prepared and presented by the students under guidance of Mr. Manu Mahajan.
05-May-2022	Under “Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” Power Point Presentation on the topic “Pioneer women entrepreneurs in India” and “Introduction to Managerial Accounting”.	The presentation started with the students of M.com 4th semester, they explained the concepts of Managerial Accounting including the Scope, Advantages and Limitations of Managerial accounting. This was a group presentation given by the students followed by a presentation given by M.com 2nd semester on the topic “Women Entrepreneurs in India”. They listed several successful women entrepreneurs and presented the story behind their success.
25-Apr-2022	Archives Exhibition, organized by State Archives, Language & Culture Department, Himachal Pradesh.	Students of Department of History participated in a “Talk cum Archives Exhibition” organised by the State Archives, Language and Culture Department, Himachal Pradesh, at Sanskriti Bhavan, Kasumpti, Shimla. Mr. Prem Prasad Pandit, Deputy Director of Language and Culture Department was the resource person of the event. He emphasized the need of such program to highlight the rules and laws made by the Himachal Government for the protection of the records available in the records rooms related to Himachal Pradesh, so that there is an exchange of universal knowledge of the written wealth of Himachal. Students were made aware of the various research facilities available in state archives. They were also enlightened about Tankri Script. The event was truly enriching experience for the students.
26-Apr-2022	Field Visit for M.Sc. students( Department of Botany)	36 students of M.Sc.(Botany) II and IV Semesters were taken to a field visit to Indian Institute of Advanced Studies.The purpose of visit was to study the flora, both wild and cultivated species of Advanced Studies and surrounding areas. It was a fruitful visit.
25-Apr-2022	The 13th annual edition of the Peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal, Journal of Research	The Bede Athenaeum was released by Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh Sh. Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on 25th April 2022. The present edition of the journal encompasses articles in the form of full-length research papers, survey papers, and case studies from the field of humanities, basic sciences, and technology.
06-Apr-2022	Library Activity for BCA students	Topics were given to students of BCA IInd, IVth and VIth semester. They accessed various books and collected information for the topics given to them.

It was a fruitful visit.

25-Mar-2022	Annual Prize Distribution and Office Laying Down Ceremony of the Student Council(2021-22).	Prizes for excellence in Academics , curricular and extracurricular activities were distributed to the winners by Dr. Rajneesh,Principal Secretary (Education)Govt. of H.P. Annual report for the Academic year(2021-22) was read by the principal Sr.(Prof.) Molly Abraham.
23-Mar-2022	Inter-college Economics Literary Meet	An Inter-college Economics Literary Meet was organised by the Department of Economics, St. Bede’s College, Shimla on 22nd March, 2022 in which around 100 students of Economics from R.K.M.V, Centre of Excellence Govt. College Sanjauli, University College of Legal Studies, Ava-lodge, Rajiv Gandhi Degree College Kotshera and St. Bede’s College participated. Students participated in a number of competitions like debates, poster making, cartoon making, economics cross word, Shark Tank and Street Play. This meet provided a forum for exchange of new ideas and techniques among the students in the field of Economics.
19-Mar-2022	Online Power Point Presentation on Folk Dances of Himachal Pradesh under EBSB.	The power point presentation on Folk Dances of H.P. under EBSB was given by Ananya Chauhan, student of B.Com III Year to our counter part College Kahm Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, Kerala on google meet in which various dance forms of H.P. were presented and a beautiful pahari folksong was sung by Samaira Mahajan.

11-Mar-2022	Exhibition on “Evolution in Technology”	Students of BCA presented the evolution in technology through exhibition in the computer lab. Charts displaying various components of motherboard, evolution of computers were displayed. CMOS battery, Processing devices used in different generations, DIMM RAM, SATA cable, evolution of phones and mobile phones, ear phones, printers were also presented in the exhibition. Analog computer was also displayed in the exhibition.
12-Mar-2022	आधुनिक हिंदी कहानियों का मनोवैज्ञानिक विश्लेषण’ पर मनोविज्ञान विभाग के साथ एक अंतर्विभागीय संगोष्ठी	इस अंतर्विभागीय संगोष्ठी में हिंदी की बी.ए एवं बीकॉम द्वित्तीय वर्ष की छात्राओं ने अपने पाठ्यक्रम में सम्मिलित तीन कहानियों - ‘ईदगाह’, ‘छप्पन तोले का करधन’ तथा ‘मलबे का मालिक’ का सार प्रस्तुत किया जिनका मनोवैज्ञानिक विश्लेषण मनोविज्ञान की छात्राओं द्वारा किया गया।

Inter-departmental activity of Department of Computer Science with department of Chemistry was organised on “2D-3D Animations” in the seminar room by Mr. Nishant Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry. Students were made aware of various uses of 2D and 3D animations, softwares for 2D animations like illustrator, Photoshop etc. and 3 D animations like Maya, Blender, Cinema 4D etc.

8-Mar-2022	अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस 2022	सेंट बीड्स महाविद्यालय के हिंदी विभाग द्वारा अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस 2022 के उपलक्ष्य में 9 मार्च 2022 को महाविद्यालय के संगोष्ठी कक्ष में प्रातः साढ़े 9 बजे से स्त्री विमर्श पर आधारित एक फिल्म - 'गंगूबाई काठियावाड़ी' का प्रदर्शन किया गया तथा फ़िल्म की समीक्षा-लेखन प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की गयी। इस प्रतियोगिता में बी.ए. तृत्तीय वर्ष (डी एस ई ) तथा (जी ई) की छात्राओं ने बढ़-चढ़कर भाग लिया। प्रदर्शन के दौरान फ़िल्म के महत्त्वपूर्ण दृश्यों को दिखाया गया जिसके बाद 30 मिनट की अवधि में छात्राओं ने उसकी समीक्षा लिखी। प्रतिभागियों में सुश्री नेहा, बी.ए. तृत्तीय वर्ष (जी ई) को प्रथम स्थान तथा सुश्री कनिका चौहान बी.ए. तृत्तीय वर्ष(डी एस ई ) को द्वित्तीय स्थान प्राप्त हुआ।
3-Mar-2022	National Parliament for Women	HP State Commission for Women in association with National Commission for Women organised a National Parliament for women at Government Senior Secondary School, Portmore, Shimla on March 3, 2022. Ms InduBalaGoswami, Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from Himachal Pradesh was the Chief Guest. Other important guests included Mrs. Satya Kaundal, Mayor, Shimla, Mr. Shailender Chauhan, Deputy Mayor, Ms. Payal Vaidya, Ms. Vandana Yogi, Ms. Shashi Bala, Mr. Narendra Sood, Principal, Govt. 1-Oct-2021	Special Invited talk on ‘Video Analysis of Experiments in Classical Dynamics using Tracker’	The Physics department of St. Bede’s College Shimla, in collaboration with Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) organized a Special Invited talk on ‘Video Analysis of Experiments in Classical Dynamics using Tracker’. Prof. OSKS Sastri, Professor of Physics and Chairman, Physics Society, Department of Physics and Astronomical Sciences, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, was the speaker. Prof. OSKS Sastri talked about the scientific way of performing the experiment and analysis of the data using open source video analysis software Tracker taking an example of simple pendulum experiment. Around 75 physics students of the college attended the event.

14-Aug-2021	Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”: Celebrating 75 years of independence.	Virtual Thought Provoking Session “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”: Celebrating 75 years of independence. To celebrate 75 years of independence, the cadets of 7 HP (I) Coy NCC Shimla and 1 HP Naval Unit Bilaspur of St. Bede’s College organized a Virtual Thought Provoking Session titled “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”. The Resource Person for the day was Lt. Col Abhilov Sharma, Sena Medal. The cadets recited some self-composed poems, as well as presented a video of handmade greeting cards.

A total of 130 participants including students and faculty members attended the lecture.

All the students of M.Sc 4th Sem. planted various species of fruit yielding, timber yielding and ornamental plants at their homes. 14-Nov-19	Children Day 2019	On the occasion of Children’s Day, i.e. 14th November, 2019, the staff members of St. Bede’s College organised a short function for the students in the Basketball Court of the College. The function began with a friendly basketball match between the teachers and students. The match was engrossing and kept the audience engaged and interested. Later, there was a game of musical arms and the teachers distributed sweets amongst the students. Overall, the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all the students.

The Chief guest, Dr. (Sr.) Marina, Manager of the College and the Principal Dr. (Sr.) Beena John gave away the prizes to around 200 students who excelled in academics as well as 100 prizes for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities throughout the year.
