ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Department of Microbiology established in the year 2009 to promote education in the field of Microbiology Under Graduate level. The department has well equipped laboratories, classrooms with excellent teaching aids and is actively involved in teaching and research. Students are encouraged to participate in scientific activities not only as a component of their prescribed studies but also as a mutual contribution for the college and society.

MISSION

The mission of the department is to educate and train students in the discipline of microbiology and to expand the knowledge of the scientific field through class projects and demonstrations. 

VISION

Our vision is to produce highly qualified and competent students in all areas of Microbiology. 

OBJECTIVES

• To provide students with requisite knowledge and scientific skills in the field of  microbiology.
• To prepare students with basic knowledge in immunology, biochemistry, microbiology, forensics, biotechnological techniques etc.  in order to continue their career in higher degrees.
• To provide research intelligence through in house projects as well as the classroom practicalsTo provide exposure to students through group discussions, seminars, symposia and conferences.

• To make students aware about the current research going on around the globe.
• Interactive sessions with experts of upcoming fields are being organized.

• Computer systems with Internet facilities
• Departments own Library has several books of the various disciplines of Biotechnology and Microbiology of both foreign authors as well as Indian authors.
• Modern laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment’s such as autoclave, microscopes, spectrophotometer, incubator, thermos cycler, BOD  incubator, centrifuge, gel doc, trans illuminator, deep freezer etc.
