WOMEN EMPOWERMENT THROUGH VALUED BASED AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Focusing on building synergy for holistic development, the college supplements the degree programme with value-based and experiential learning.
Value-Based Learning–
- To inculcate socialistic values and provide mentorship to the students, the college offers weekly value education classes.
- The NSS, NCC units and various societies of the college organize numerous extension activities throughout the year, to indulge students in community service. A blood bank database has been created so that the students can donate blood to the needy during emergency.
- The students of NCC and NSS spread messages on cleanliness, pollution, the environment, waste management and use of plastic etc. in the adopted villages and schools.
- The department of Economics has started an Honesty store imparting socialistic values in the students.
- The college promotes higher education amongst women coming from rural backgrounds.
Physical Development
- Physical education introduced in the college as an elective discipline encourages the students to indulge in different kinds of sports to explore their areas of interest.
- The students join the NSO cell and participate in numerous sports events organised throughout the year.
- The college provides coaching facility for athletics, basketball, badminton, table tennis, etc.
- A gymnasium with modern equipment has been set up in the college premises, to promote fitness of the students.
- To give hands-on physical fitness and self-defense training to the students, a value-added course on ‘Self Defense’ was started for the session 2021-2022.
Experiential Learning:
- The students are encouraged to organize and manage webinars, seminars, inter-college functions, etc. enhancing their organizational skills.
- The office bearers get representation in various decision-making committees such as IQAC, Internal Complaint Cell, Anti Ragging cell, etc.
- The SkillLabs has set up a ‘Financial lab cum Incubation Centre’ in the college to provide job-oriented skills.
Cognitive Development
- Students are encouraged to contribute to college magazine and departmental newsletters and design brochures, invitations and e-certificates showcasing their creativity and talent.
- Various add-on courses have been introduced to give additional skills to the students.
