The Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit of St. Bede's College under Indian Red Cross Society, Himachal Pradesh was established in 2026 with the objective of promoting humanitarian values, health awareness, and community service among students in accordance with the guidelines of the Youth Red Cross. The unit provides a platform for students to develop a spirit of voluntary service, social responsibility, compassion, and leadership while contributing meaningfully to the welfare of society.
The Youth Red Cross is committed to preparing students to respond effectively to community needs through voluntary service, health education, and awareness programmes. It seeks to cultivate qualities such as empathy, discipline, teamwork, resilience, and civic responsibility, thereby nurturing socially conscious and responsible citizens.
Throughout the academic year, the unit organizes a wide range of activities, including health and hygiene awareness campaigns, blood donation awareness programmes, first aid and disaster preparedness training, environmental conservation initiatives, cleanliness drives, road safety awareness campaigns, community outreach programmes, and the observance of important national and international days related to health, humanitarian service, and social welfare.
Guided by the fundamental principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, voluntary service, unity, universality, and respect for human dignity, the Youth Red Cross Unit strives to foster a culture of compassion, service, and community engagement. Through its diverse initiatives, the unit encourages students to become active agents of positive social change and responsible citizens dedicated to serving humanity.
